It started with the B-17 Project and a dedicated group of volunteers. 

The Champaign Aviation Museum was built to hold our collection of planes and to handle the rebuild of the B-17 Flying Fortress. 

The B-17 moved into the museum October of 2010.  When visitors come they can see the rebuild process as well as enjoy the rest of the planes that are housed there.
