Free Lecture: The Attack on Pearl Harbor

Brigadier-General Paul Cooper (retired), will discuss the surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 1941.  The attack led to the United States' formal entry into World War II the next day.  What led up to the attack?  Why were we surprised?  What was our defensive strategy?  What was the Japanese attack plan?  What type of aircraft did each side have?  What were the results of the attack?  The presentation will answer many of these questions.
